Status & Governance
ISMANS is a school attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Created in 1987,it has been a member of the French Ivy league schools since 1992.It's research laboratory was created later in 1994. Since December 2000, ISMANS Le Mans Campus has become the French campus for the University of Quebec (UQO et UQAC). Since 2009, ISMANS has been an associate member of the PRES LUNAM in the Loire region.ISMANS has the legal status of what is referred to as the 'Association de type loi 1901'. Its members are either institutions such as the Chambre of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the General Council (CG) and the Regional council (CR) or Public research institutions like the University of Maine or Industries or scientists or technical experts interested in giving lectures.
This association is called ': INSTITUT SUPERIEUR DES MATERIAUX DU MANS (ISMANS)'.
It is registered as an association at the Prefecture of the Sarthe and its head office is at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Le Mans and the Sarthe located at 1 Boulevard René Levasseur, 72000 LE MANS.
The CCI of Le Mans and the Sarthe is responsible for the management of the Association, with conditions stipulated in a specific agreement which is validated at every annual meeting of the General assembly.
The Association is responsible for the daily operations, management , developments of this Higher Education Institute called INSTITUT SUPERIEUR DES MATERIAUX DU MANS.
ISMANS is under the authority of the CCI du Mans and the Sarthe, a public state facility. The President of the CCI is by right the chairman of the Board of Directors.
