Currently General Director of the Institut Supérieur des matériaux et mécaniques avancés (ISMANS) situated at Mans, the famous city known for the race ‘the twenty four hours of le Mans’, an industrial city located at less than one hour of Paris downtown, ALM was the second Director and the sole General Director of this private Institute dedicated to master level education (250 students) with radical research in theoretical engineering (a research team composed of 17 senior scientists and 25 international associated scientists) and active international policy (3 subsidiaries: 2 in Africa, 1 in USA). ISMANS is member of the Conference des Grandes Ecoles, the French Ivy League recruiting the students of top level (ISMANS > 7 %), as well as a member of the French German University. In addition to his administrative position, ALM is also associated professor at University of Quebec in Management and at University of Sherbrooke (Canada) in Chemistry. He invented at ISMANS the SPADD system, a generic and efficient device reducing drastically the vibration, the noise and the aging of mechanical system.
Nevertheless the first step of his carrier was dedicated to industry. From 1973 to 1995 it was a scientist at the Corporate Research Center of Alcatel Alsthom Company. At the same time, he was Associated Research Director at CNRS (the national centre for scientific research) in Chemical Engineering (1986-1991) and Associated Professor at University of Paris South Orsay in Applied Mathematics in Chemistry. In Alcatel Alsthom, he was one of the inventors of Lithium Ion Batteries and of the Rapid Prototyping, and the very first scientist to applied fractal geometry and non integer differential equation to the optimization of batteries. He established for the first time and in the same time as Nigmatullin Group (father and son) of Kazan University, the connection between fractal geometry and fractionnarity of complex dynamics.
